Hun Many Tells People to Watch Out for Voter Misinformation

PHNOM PENH: Kampong Speu MP Hun Many called on people to be wary of those trying to misinform them of how to fill out a valid ballot for the July 23 election. He reiterated the government’s message that there are people trying to incite disorder in the election by encouraging others to submit invalid ballots.

During a Cambodian People’s Party rally in Kampong Speu on July 13, he said, "From today until the election day, beware of malicious acts, including the intentional misrepresentation of or incitement to rig elections."

He added that if people saw such behavior, they should inform the local CPP members or committees to take legal action to prevent the unjust acts from continuing.

Cambodia has set the date for the 7th National Assembly Election 2023 on July 23, 2023, with the participation of 18 parties.
